Briana Krushelnicki
BEd, MA, Registered Psychotherapist

Briana (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology/Gender Studies) and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge. She has over ten years of experience working with youth and families as a public and private school teacher, dyslexia specialist, and community coach. Her passion for supporting others in their growth led her to obtain her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

As an activist, Briana’s work is focused on supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. She is a former member of the collective board at the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape and provides support to survivors of sexual assault on TRCC/MWAR’s confidential 24-hour crisis line. She has also worked in community settings supporting mothers and children healing from their experiences with domestic violence and intimate partner terrorism. She believes that creating a world free from violence happens at both the individual and structural levels. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County, where she puts her experience to use in service of the youth of Lanark County.

Briana currently works with clients both online and in person. Her interests include the mind-body connection, the role of shame and resilience in our lives, and the importance of relationships. She is committed to helping clients slow down and tune in to their emotions to see what these emotions can teach us about ourselves. As such, she is pursuing additional qualifications in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. Learn more about her approaches here.

Originally from beautiful central Alberta, Briana called Toronto home for many years before moving to the small town of Smiths Falls. She loves cycling in all forms, taking on too many sewing projects, and coaching volleyball with the Lanark United Volleyball Club.
